Our Birth Story

We received the call our surrogate was to be induced around 10am on July, 6th, 2020. It was the day that forever changed our existence. We immediately went into panic mode, trying to determine where our belongings were and if everything was in place for our quick departure. It was nerve-racking, to say the least, and we both scrambled! The week prior we had a false alarm where our surrogate went into preterm labor, but luckily doctors were able to stop it and our babies were able to stay cooking for a little bit longer. Given that experience, we were able to get well-prepared, had packed our bags and were ready for the real event, knowing it would happen in one to two weeks. Our surrogate developed a condition called Cholestasis, which was dangerous for herself and babies, so the doctor decided inducing labor would be the best thing for both surrogate and babies.

They're Coming!

We live about five hours away from the hospital where our babies were to be born so we had to hustle to make it to the delivery. Given we were in the middle of a worldwide pandemic, we previously contacted the hospital and were given an allowance to partake in the delivery (we took all the necessary precautions in order to do so). Our drive up felt endless and our anxiety was slowly getting a grip on our bodies, as we knew THIS WAS NO FALSE ALARM! Our babies were going to be born that same day! We made it with little room to spare, as our surrogates water had broken just before we arrived and babies were in place and ready to come out. Once we were given the go-ahead, we changed into our surgical outfits, along with our surrogates fiancé, Jesse, and we went off into the OR, to experience the most incredible event of our lives, the birth of our baby boys! Check out the video below for all the breathtaking footage!

Dedication

This blog and YouTube video is dedicated to those who made our babies possible, our surrogate Tiffany and her fiance Jesse, and their beautiful daughters and extended family. There is no level of gratitude or amount of money that can ever be repaid to someone who can give you the blessing of children. Tiffany was and is the most incredible human being we've ever met, selfless, with a beautiful soul, and a giving heart! Without people like Tiffany, our babies would have never been a possibility. She truly makes the world a better place to live in. Her support system was also a big part of this. Tiffany's fiancé, Jesse, amazing in his own right, stood by her, protected her, loved her and this process, and went above and beyond to make sure our babies were well taken care of. He stepped up when Tiffany developed third trimester pregnancy woes, and cared for their daughters. We could never thank Tiffany, Jesse and their family enough for all they have given us and we will spend the rest of our lives showing them that gratitude. WE LOVE YOU GUYS, FOREVER!

We also want to give a special shout out to all the surrogates out there! Without you, none of this would be possible and many of us would not have the beautiful families we have today. It is these acts of generosity that make the world a better place! We are incredibly grateful and we will continue to advocate and speak loudly of surrogacy so that other families are afforded the same opportunity as we were!

We also want to say a few words about our agency, Family Formers, and our IVF Clinic. When we first started this process we didn't know how complex and tedious this process would be, and Family Formers was there to hold our hands and walk us through the entire process. Teresa and her team were incredible and really made a very complex process, seam easy! We highly recommend them for anyone wanting to pursue egg donation and surrogacy. To our IVF Clinic, thank you for everything! The level of service and tact demonstrated is one-in-a-million! Doctor P., Nurse Amy, and the entire staff are the best of the best. They provided daily updates on our egg retrieval process and how many embryos we had and their conditions. Their embryologist rated and selected our two best embryos, which ultimately led to twin success! Through it all they kept timelines to keep us on track for a successful transfer. We will never thank you all enough! There are no promises when it comes to surrogacy, but with the correct people in your circle, the chances of success are much greater. It's important to research extensively and follow your gut as it will never fail you! We learned that very well and we dropped another IVF clinic because our gut led us elsewhere and it was the best decision we ever made!
